political marketing
   Marketing concerns the way in which business organisations seek to gain a market advantage by carefully tailoring their product to popular requirements and promoting it in such a way as to maximise sales. Political marketing is about the way in which political bodies adapt and employ business-marketing concepts and techniques in order to help them fulfil their objectives. Parliaments, councils, government departments and in particular political parties and pressure groups seek to identify public concerns via market research, adjust their behaviour accordingly and communicate their product (their ideas and policies) more effectively, using the latest techniques of popular persuasion.
